For nearly five decades, Nassau Community College has provided students with a quality education. Nassau Community College was created as part of the State University of New York (SUNY) in 1959. When the College first opened on February 1, 1960, it was housed in a wing of the old County Courthouse in Mineola, New York. It had only 632 students.
Today, over 22,000 day and evening students and close to 15,000 continuing and professional students of all ages and backgrounds come together at our beautiful 225-acre campus in the center of Long Island.
Our academic standards are high, our facilities are first-class, and our faculty is among the most distinguished in New York higher education. New buildings are planned at NCC, adding superior classroom and laboratory space to a campus that already boasts modern facilities and picturesque historical architecture.
NCC has one of the best teacher/student ratios in the state. Our students have access to the latest technology in our classroom and laboratory facilities.
We offer more than 60 fields of study, including business; fine, graphic, and performing arts; health related sciences; liberal arts and sciences; mathematics/computers; natural sciences; engineering technologies; office technologies; and social sciences.
Nassau gives you the attention you deserve.
