Dr. Hadassah Guttmann, pianist, soloist,  educator, and author, received her B.M., M.A. from Queens College and attained her Ph.D. (with honors) at NYU.  She has given many New York performances, especially in Merkin Concert Hall and Weill Recital Hall at Carnegie Hall. She performed at the Gala Opening event. 

Edward Rothstein of the the New York Times described Dr. Guttmann's playing as, "Elegant."  

Composer - Professor Leo Kraft created a solo piece especially for Dr. Guttmann, entitled,  'From The Old World,' fantasy on traditional Jewish motifs, piano solo.  On November 29, 2007, she debuted the solo piece at the Israel American Foundation on Park Avenue in NY. She performed the Kraft piece on February  3, 2008 in Great Neck House in NY and February 17th at Grace Church in Brooklyn Heights, NY. The concerts included the works of three other composers and both concerts were under the auspices of the Long Island Composers' Alliance. 

Several of her media performances include WFUV-FM, appearances on television and on a series on-air live radio broadcasts on WPBR out of Florida where she gave a lecture-recital on a different classical composer every week.  Her series, called "College of the Air" was hosted by the late Jerry Hirsch of New York.  In 2007, she primiered Joel Mandelbaum's Piano Concerto (1st Movement) at Queens College and Hunter College.  A CD was made of this concert. 

Since childhood, Dr. Guttmann has championed the music of Paul Ben-Haim and once had the privilege of performing for him. In 1992 Dr. Guttmann authored and published, The Music of Paul Ben-Haim: A Performance Guide which incorporates a biographical sketch of the career of Ben-Haim with a skillfully detailed description of selected compositions of Paul Ben-Haim using the La Rue system of analysis. 

Dr. Guttmann is presently on the faculties of Nassau Community College and the Lucy Moses Music School located in the Abraham Goodman House in NYC.  She has served on the faculties of the
Yeshiva University High School for Girls in Hillcrest, NY, and was
a co-ordinator of a branch of the Lucy Moses School in Five Towns, NY.    

Dr. Guttmann has been a student of some of the 20th Century's greatest musical-artists, pianists, and teachers. She was a scholarship student of the renowned Nadia Reisenberg, who was known for her international tours as a soloist and recitalist.  Dr. Guttmann also studied with  Leon Pommers, Morey Ritt and Jascha Zayde.

She was named Annenberg Visiting Artist at the Metropolitan area schools. She is included in chapter on Notable Pianists in the book, "My Friend Lenny" about the life of Leonard Bernstein,
written by author Ouida Mintz.

Dr. Guttmann is the director of The Guttmann Trio. The Chamber music 
blends the beauty of piano, cello, and violin and includes piano solos in the program. A mix of other instruments can be added to the programs. 

By recommendation from the President of the World Piano Teachers Association (WPTA), Dr. Dorian Leljak,  and the European Piano Teachers Association (EPTA)- Voyvodiana, Dr. Guttmann was
selected and invited to participate in the '3rd WORLD PIANO CONFERENCE' (WPC)in Novi Sad, Serbia being held from
June 27-July 3, 2011. 
Dr. Guttmann's participation can include both presentation
and classes.
